HOW WE CAN HELP

When someone close to you is using drugs or drinking too much alcohol, this can make you feel very alone. We can be there when it feels like no one else will listen, or if you need someone to be there for you if you are worried or scared.

We can help you in lots of ways, including on the telephone or using text messages, or we can visit you for friendly support sessions wherever you feel safe and comfortable. We also run loads of fun activities for the children and young people we work with.

I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW

If you are over 13 you can receive help from us without your parent or guardian giving their consent for us to see you. If you are under 13, we have to have a signed form from whoever looks after you to say that it is okay for us to give you our support.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO

Before we can support any children or young people, all we need is a short form filling in by a teacher, care worker, or anyone you can trust which you or they can download here. Once we have received this, one of our friendly support workers will arrange to meet you at home, at school, or anywhere you feel safe.

WHO ELSE CAN HELP?

There are lots of other people who can also support you if you are affected by drugs and alcohol in this way, depending on your needs. Visit our useful links below for other organisations that may also be helpful, but if you’re unsure, it’s best to call us first.

KOOTH.COM

In Nottingham City, young people aged 10-24 can also access counselling online through www.kooth.com or by seeing one of Kooth’s counsellors face-to-face in school or in the community. You can download their leaflet by clicking here.
